Bred at the Hüll Hop Research Center and released in 1978, Perle is a well-rounded German dual-purpose hop descended from Northern Brewer. With moderate alpha acids (typically 6–9%), it delivers a pleasant, balanced blend of herbs, spice and a light floral-citrus lift, with the noble-like elegance German hops are known for. Its high humulene oil profile — similar to Hallertau Mittelfrüh — gives it a refined character prized in traditional European styles.
