A New Zealand dual-purpose hop from Plant & Food Research, Rakau (once known as AlphAroma) is often described as ‚the whole orchard‘ for its rich fruit character. With moderate-to-high alpha acids (typically 9–11%), it delivers expressive apricot, stone fruit, plum and mango over a clean, well-constructed bitterness. Performing best in late additions and dry hopping, Rakau brings ripe Southern Hemisphere fruit to modern IPAs and pale ales.
