A modern German aroma hop bred at the Hüll Hop Research Center and released in 2002, Saphir was developed as a disease-resistant noble-style variety with a distinctive twist. With low-to-moderate alpha acids (typically 2–4.5%), it offers a delicate noble base lifted by an unexpected bright tangerine-citrus and subtle fruity character — a contemporary take on the German aroma tradition. Excellent for late additions and dry hopping, Saphir brings a fresh, fragrant citrus-floral signature to classic lagers and wheat beers.
