Originally released by the USDA in 1974 and revived by the craft movement, Comet is an American dual-purpose hop with a bold, distinctive character. With high alpha acids (typically 9–12%), it can bitter firmly while offering a pronounced ‚wild American‘ aroma of grapefruit, citrus and a resinous, grassy edge. Punchy and characterful, Comet suits modern hop-forward pale ales and IPAs.
