Developed by CLS Farms in Washington’s Moxee Valley and released in 2010, El Dorado is a modern American dual-purpose hop celebrated for its bold, candy-sweet fruit character. With high alpha acids (typically 13–17%), it works as an efficient bittering hop, but brewers prize it above all for late and dry-hop additions, where it bursts with juicy pineapple, watermelon, pear and stone fruit — often compared to sweet hard candy. Endlessly expressive and instantly popular, El Dorado is a modern staple for fruit-forward IPAs and hazy pale ales.
