Bred at the Hüll Hop Research Center and released in 1989, Hallertauer Tradition is a fine German aroma hop descended from Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, Hallertauer Gold and Saaz. Developed for disease resistance while preserving the delicate noble character of its parents, it has become one of the most widely grown aroma hops in Germany. With moderate alpha acids (typically 4–7%) and low cohumulone, it offers an earthy, grassy and herbal profile over subtle notes of nectar fruit and flowers. Best used late in the boil or for dry hopping to preserve its humulene-rich aromatics, it lends authentic elegance to classic European styles.
