Released by the USDA in 1993, Crystal is an American noble-style aroma hop descended from Hallertau Mittelfrüh. With low alpha acids (typically 3–6%), it offers a delicate, refined character of floral, herbal and mildly spicy notes with a touch of woody-citrus. Smooth and versatile, Crystal is a favourite for lagers, pilsners and cleaner ales where noble-style refinement is wanted.
