Saaz is the legendary Czech noble hop — delicate spicy-earthy elegance, the soul of the Bohemian Pilsner.
The most famous of the four classic noble hops, Saaz takes its name from the Žatec region of Bohemia, where it has been cultivated for centuries. With very low alpha acids (typically 3–4.5%), it is the soul of Czech brewing — delicate, refined and unmistakable, offering a gentle spicy, earthy and herbal character with a mild floral note. Reserved almost exclusively for aroma and late additions, Saaz is the defining hop of the Czech Pilsner and a cornerstone of European lager tradition.
