Our Pealed Roasted Barley MD malt undergoes a high-temperature roasting process in our roasting drum. Once it achieves the target color, it is rapidly cooled. This specific malt contributes a smoky/roasted flavor and a dark hue to brown beers.

The use of peeled barley as the starting material helps in eliminating the astringent flavors often associated with roasted chaff.

This roasted malt is appropriate for use in up to 5% of the grain bill.
